It is possible that without his famous woven curtain, which became a symbol of the ruthless heroes of the play “Hamlet”, the performance would not have become so significant in the theatrical life of the capital and the country, and then many countries outside it. At the presentation of the book, Veniamin Smekhov said that the theater team was incredibly lucky, since David Lvovich went all the way with the theater - almost from the beginning of his life to his last days. The work of David Borovsky, Smekhov devoted a whole chapter in the book, which became a literary portrait of the artist.

Another of the main characters of the book was Yuri Petrovich Lyubimov. For Smekhov, the Tagansky director became a teacher not only on the stage, but also in life from the first appearance on the stage in “The Good Man from Cezuan”, the play from which Taganka began.

The book of Veniamin Borisovich became a real chronicle of Tagan history, which took place thanks to the actors of the old Taganka. Many of the artists have already passed away, but there are no forgotten ones.
