• It is predictable that Mieke Zilverberg will display a Roman statue of the Greek god Pan at his booth. The marble statue is much older than the event - it has already turned two thousand years old. The statue of Pan is recognizable thanks to his feet, overgrown with thick goat hair, and Pan’s flutes, named after the deity that he holds in his left hand. The declared price is 70,000 euros.
• Rob Kattenburg has a couple of spectacular and impressive pendants. The first Flemish marine painter, Andris van Hervelt, created them around 1650. One depicts loading onto a ship, the other - naval battle. The second pendant is unusual in that it depicts not a victory, but a defeat of the Danish fleet. The declared price is about 500,000 euros.
• An art dealer Salomon Lilian sells Jan Sten’s “Tobias and Sarah’s Wedding” for 1.8 million euros. The image of Sarah’s father sitting at the table is obviously built on the portrait of an old man painted by Rembrandt, now exhibited in the Rembrandt Museum House.
• Frides Laméris will celebrate the 25th anniversary of PAN Amsterdam with the presentation of 25 designer glasses dating from the seventeenth to eighteenth centuries - this is the most extensive collection for sale and not standing in the museum cabinet. There are glasses with engravings by such famous masters as Jacob Sang, France Greenwood and Adams, as well as glasses of almost unknown or completely unknown engravers. One of the best examples is a glass with a picture of a rearing horse against a hilly landscape. Diamond glass engraving and signature belong to Frans Greenwood.
• Kollenburg Antiquairs will bring a tall and wide desk, pasted over with ten different types of wood and decorated with mosaics in the form of medallions, human figures and festivals. This item serves as a desk, but can also be used as a chest of drawers. Production - England, circa 1775. The declared price is 95,000 euros.
• Two Bernard Richter stitched oak panels from the Art Deco period can be seen at Kunstconsult. The panels came from the former city hall of Amsterdam, and now they are in the Grand Hotel. They were created in 1926 in the style of the Amsterdam school; a large number of famous artists had their hand in this subject. The same panels can be seen in the room for honeymooners of the first class. The work of Bernard Richter (1888-1966) is exclusive. Even despite the fact that the cost of his works increased substantially during the life of the artist, it was hard for him to part with them, so he overpriced and sold only a couple of things.
• Marzee of Nijmegen, the largest gallery of contemporary jewelry in Europe, received a new location at the exhibition. Now that the collection is surrounded by galleries of modern art and modern, it looks brilliant. Winfried Krueger received the 2011 Marzee Oeuvre Award for his 18k gold tie-shaped ring (1996). This ring is on sale for 2500 euros.
• In addition to the Harms Rolde collection, Willy Schoots will also showcase some of the foundational work of Studio Job, including the installation of Robber Baron (2007). This architectural clock ensemble illustrates the charm of Studio Job with custom materials and techniques.
• Another dual-use item was the Warffemius lacquered steel seat sculpture at the Galerie Ramakers. And, although only 12 pieces are available, each copy is unique, as the artist leaves the choice of color to the buyer. The declared price is 9000 euros.
• Kahmann Gallery proves that top quality can be sold at a reasonable price. The proof will be the special album of the Rotterdam duo Schilte & Portielje. A signed copy of the recently published Photoworks beyond Reality photo book, as well as a framed Lambda photograph, 47 x 57 cm, will cost € 650. In total, 50 copies of the album have been published, which contains almost all the artists’ collaborative work on this moment, and this is more than 130 illustrations.
PAN Amsterdam runs from November 20 to November 27, 2011 at Parkhal (Hall 8) in the Amsterdam RAI. The exhibition is open daily from 11.00 to 19.00, with the exception of Thursday (November 24) and Sunday (November 27), when it closes at 18.00.
