According to Yale officials, the materials are laid out without legal restrictions on use - neither licenses nor any other means will be required to reproduce and transfer images. Such an initiative will allow scientists, artists and art lovers around the world to freely use the rich collections of Yale University as a material for various studies, publications, training, as well as a source of inspiration.
At the time of publication, the freely available online archive on Yale University’s official website contains more than 258 thousand images. The collection is divided into several categories, but the size of the images, basically, is not yet large.
