A little earlier, the most recent self-portrait of Warhol (1986) was sold to a client present at the auction for $ 27,522,500, and in general for the week, Christie’s earned more than $ 90 million ($ 90,988,000) for Warhol’s work.
Another sensation of the auction was the abstract work of Mark Rothko, “Untitled No. 17 ”, written in 1961, the buyer of which posted $ 33,682,500. No less surprising is the result of trading on the abstract canvas of Sea Twombly, also without a name, “Untitled”, 1967, the price of which reached $ 15,202,500.
Christie’s (Post-War And Contemporary Art Evening Sale) evening auction May 11 in New York brought $ 301,683,630, setting 7 new world price records.

Читая новости об аукционах с миллиоными продажами, прихожу к мысли, что наверное я чего-то не понимаю в этой жизни. За 30 млн можно построить школу например, но отдать их за унтитлед номер 17, это за пределами понимания.
