The basis of the project is the author’s routes, which include famous and unusual city locations, museum collections and temporary exhibitions, musical and performance events, as well as educational events. The Museum Quartet is a space where the past and present of world culture come into contact with the rich history and dynamic modernity of Moscow.

“We are different from museum miles in other capitals of the world - we are all located along the line of the Moskva River, which gives a different perspective, expanding horizons. Expanding the horizon is one of the most important tasks. This is an initiative that will seriously help the interaction of viewers with all of us, our interaction with the city. Informal associations of cultural institutions, such as the Museum Quartet, exist in many large cities around the world: for example, in Vienna it is the Museum Quarter, in New York and London - the Museum Mile. Each of these locations attracts millions of tourists and locals every year. The Moscow initiative is also focused on interacting with a wide audience: residents of Moscow and guests of the city who are interested in the cultural life of the capital. The route of the Pushkin Museum is a mocumentari performance "Giant Vegetables" directed by Semyon Aleksandrovsky. The storytellers (former museum workers, philosopher, waitress, tour guide and other townspeople) share their memories of the inexplicable appearance of giant pumpkins in the center of Moscow and their equally mysterious disappearance.

The route from the Garage Museum was created by the architectural historian Anna Bronovitskaya. It will allow you to get an idea of ​​the architectural diversity of museum institutions that are part of the "Museum Four", and the iconic structures located near them.

The route from the Tretyakov Gallery to the New Tretyakov Gallery contains museums, mansions and former factories that "have enriched the national cultural landscape." The route was made by Tatyana Yudenkova - Doctor of Art History, head of the painting department of the second half of the 19th - early 20th centuries.

The route of the House of Culture "GES-2" is a geometric walk invented by the artist Anastasia Ryabova. Route H3 has eight equivalent points that fold into a cube shape. You can choose the most convenient and shortest route, or you can go along all the proposed trajectories.

One of the most important goals of the Museum Quartet is to provide an accessible environment and the dissemination of an inclusive culture, an interinstitutional team is working on this, which includes employees of four museums, specialists of various profiles, independent experts and consultants with experience with disabilities.

For these purposes, an "Accessible Map" will be created, with the help of which it will be possible to independently assess the physical accessibility of a particular route. The map will show ramps, accessible toilets, and various barriers, sensory load areas, and other aspects of the environment.

For the museum routes themselves, adapted versions will be developed for people with different forms of disabilities. Using a special filter, it will be possible to select a route in Russian sign language, a route using a tiflo commentary, or a route in plain language. There will also be audio files with tiflo-walks designed to navigate blind and visually impaired visitors to museum buildings. The Museum Quartet website is currently being audited for digital accessibility.
