Actors of the Maly Theater read Pushkin at an exhibition in Sheremetyevo Automatic translate
The exhibition "Maly Theater on Tour", dedicated to the touring activities of the State Academic Maly Theater, began work at the Sheremetyevo International Airport. At 48 stands in terminals D and E there were photographs of fragments of performances that actors played in different cities of Russia and abroad.
At the opening of the exhibition, Maly Theater actors Valery Afanasyev, Alexander Volkov and Konstantin Yudaev read Pushkin’s poems and an excerpt from the novel “The Blizzard”, plunging the audience in the atmosphere of a real classical theater. The artists themselves admitted that their performance and opening of the exhibition today is especially symbolic: in December, the name of the Russian classic Alexander Pushkin was given to the Sheremetyevo Airport, based on the works of which several performances were staged.
“The Maly Theater team fully supports the decision to assign the name of our great poet and enlightener Alexander Sergeyevich Pushkin to the Sheremetyevo International Airport. This name is known not only to connoisseurs of poetry, but also to everyone who loves Russia. May everyone who arrives and visits our country be blessed with this great genius, ”said People’s Artist of the Russian Federation Valery Afanasyev, adding that the theater recently returned from a tour in Yekaterinburg, where actors also flew from Sheremetyevo.
In total, more than 200 shows were held as part of the Maly Theater tour. Among them are the famous classical productions and the premieres of recent seasons: “The Marriage” of N. V. Gogol, “Masquerade” by M. Yu. Lermontov, “Youth of Louis XIV” by A. Dumas the Father, “Heart is not a stone” and “Not everything is a carnival for a cat ”by A. N. Ostrovsky,“ Vassa Zheleznov - the first option ”by M. Gorky. They were attended by Yuri Solomin, Irina Muravyova, Lyudmila Polyakova, Boris Klyuev, Vasily Bochkarev, Svetlana Amanova, Lyudmila Titova, Boris Nevzorov, Vladimir Nosik, Victor Nizovoy, Gleb Podgorodinsky and other theater artists.
“We brought and bring the best and most demanded performances on tour. In addition, our theater is very careful about its history and we want to show this story to residents of various regions of Russia, ”Tatyana Krupennikova, the head of the Museum and Information Center of the Maly Theater, commented during the opening of the exhibition.
Especially often, artists toured during the reconstruction of the Historical Stage in 2014-2016. During these years, artists visited Volgograd, St. Petersburg, Simferopol, Stavropol, Nizhny Novgorod, Rostov-on-Don, Surgut, Irkutsk, Novosibirsk, Sevastopol, Kazan, Sochi, Tashkent, Minsk, Chita, Kursk, Ulan-Ude and others cities. As the artists admitted, most often from touring trips begin precisely from Sheremetyevo.
