"Time of Lima" - an exhibition of graphics by Latvian artists in Salekhard Automatic translate

Since April 6, residents of graphic art lovers have the opportunity to get acquainted with the exhibition of creativity of Latvian artists, presented to the public under the name “Laime Time”. The opened exhibition is part of a project organized with the aim of building friendly relations between the Baltic republics and Russia. Last year, residents have already met a solo exhibition of the Latvian graphic artist Sergei Kolechenko, held in Salekhard as part of the International Festival of Graphics and Design. Some of them were even able to attend the artist’s master classes.

The exposition of the exhibition “Time of Lima” will allow you to see the stages of the formation of the graphic school of Latvia, which originated in the late XIX century. In the exhibition space of the IEC there are more than 130 graphic works made in a variety of techniques. For the convenience of the audience, the exposition is divided into several parts.

The greatest interest to graphic art connoisseurs was caused by the section representing the work of the founder of the department of graphics of the Latvian Academy of Arts, Richard Zarins, and his students. For the first time, the Russian public saw the cycle “Battle for Freedom” included in the exposition.

In a separate part of the exhibition, graphics created by artists during the period of Soviet Latvia are presented. Included in the exposition are also works by artists of the Russian emigration who lived in Latvia after the republic gained independence. The graphics created after 1991 did not go unnoticed.

The Lima Time exhibition runs until April 29th.
