CHELYABINSK. The Museum of Fine Arts celebrated the anniversary of the exhibition held 80 years ago - “Ural-Kuzbass in Painting”, a new exhibition of the same subject. On the poster representing the exposition, a subtitle is printed: "An Artistic Chronicle of the Times of Industrialization." The exhibition features paintings that participated in the first exhibition, but not all of them have been preserved.

Eight decades ago, its participants were more than one hundred artists. The exhibition opened on December 8 includes a total of 47 paintings by 18 authors. Stanislav Tkachenko, director of the museum, speaking at the opening ceremony, noted the tremendous work performed by the museum staff at the stage of preparing the exhibition for display to the public.

Almost all the paintings included in the exhibition. restoration was needed. The history of the museum was a period of its liquidation. In the period 1941-1947, paintings from his collection were stored in places completely unsuitable for this purpose.

Some of the works of art were badly damaged. By the opening of the exhibition, museum staff not only restored most of the paintings, but also established the authors of some works, as well as determined the time of their creation.

To enable visitors to the exhibition to evaluate the complexity and scale of the work done, an open restoration of paintings was organized by the museum staff as part of the created exposition. Guests of the exhibition will be interested to see how the restoration of paintings is carried out.

During the exhibition, open until March 30 of next year, events will be held during which visitors will get acquainted with the history of the creation of the presented works. There will be tales of artists who worked on canvases that became the country’s history in the era of creation.
