The Department of Artists of the Krasnoyarsk Territory invites guests to a personal exhibition of Valentin Korotkov, which opened in the House of Artists in honor of the anniversary of the famous painter. At this time, the Theater of the Young Spectator appeared in Krasnoyarsk, the founders of which were young artists who had just graduated from a theater institute in Leningrad. Valentin Korotkov talked a lot with novice actors. The young artist was given the opportunity to get to know the theater world, which was a huge impression for him.

This communication inspired the painter to create a series of portraits in which he captured the actors and directors of the theater. Some of the portraits painted during the acquaintance with the theatrical world of Krasnoyarsk can be seen in the personal exhibition of Valentin Korotkov.

A huge impact on the artist’s work was made by creative trips in which he visited one of the main Siberian construction projects of those years. The Sayano-Shushenskaya hydroelectric station, which was visited by Valentin Korotkov, inspired the artist to create portraits of builders. These works, depicting the foremen of a grandiose Siberian construction, brought him solid creative experience.

Landscapes and portraits were created by the painter while traveling around the Republic of Tuva. The result of these trips was a new series of works devoted to the Tuva region. Recently, his paintings have been participants in large-scale exhibitions, including “Siberia”, the Winter Surikov Festival and “The Great Rivers of Siberian Art”.

The anniversary exhibition of Valentin Korotkov is open until December 20.
