Tactile painting I.E. Repin "Beggar. Girl-fisherman" entered the Irkutsk Art Museum Automatic translate
The first tactile picture appeared in the Irkutsk Art Museum. V.P. Sukachev in the framework of the project "Touching art". Recall that his goal is to create relief copies of works from the main exhibition of the museum so that visitors with visual impairments can imagine the art paintings known to the Irkutsk people.
A tactile copy of the pearl of the museum’s collection - paintings by Ilya Repin “The Pauper. Girl-fisherman ”- was made in Torzhok at an enterprise that specializes in similar works. “The process took several months, but the result was worth it,” said Natalia Goncharenko, project curator, deputy director of the art museum. A tactile copy allows you to recognize not only the facial features of the heroine of this work, but also elements of clothing, landscape details. There is an inscription in braille on the frame. ”
Note that the idea of creating such a painting was brought to life thanks to donations collected on the Boomstarter platform. The total amount of donations received from 85 participants amounted to about 340 thousand rubles. From this amount, as Natalya Goncharenko said, it was necessary to pay taxes and the organizational fee of the crowdfunding platform. Thus, the funds were enough for the manufacture and delivery to Irkutsk of one tactile picture.
The first to get acquainted with the picture are children with visual impairments. An excursion in the main building of the art museum for them will be held on Friday, October 14, on the eve of International Day of the White Cane. This day was established more than forty years ago and is annually celebrated on October 15 as a kind of sign reminiscent of people with disabilities and the need for their integration into society. In the future, the museum is ready to conduct similar tours in groups by appointment.
