An exhibition of engravings by Japanese artists opened at the Nizhny Tagil Art Museum Automatic translate
LOWER TAGIL. Thanks to a collector from Chelyabinsk, Oleg Petrovich Malakhov, Nizhny Tagil connoisseurs of exquisite Japanese engravings were given the opportunity to see samples of the classics of this sophisticated genre of Japanese art. The exhibition, presented May 21 at the Museum of Fine Arts of Nizhny Tagil, consists of unique color woodcuts made by Japanese artists.
“Beauties. Flowers and birds ”- this is the name given by the organizers of the exhibition, which hosts more than thirty unique engravings. A group of engravings depicting beauties belongs to the genre of "Bidzing." On these engravings, the artists created images of women who lived in the “green quarters” - the so-called districts of entertainment venues in Japan. Their inhabitants were not only beautiful, but also educated. They were famous for grace of manners and refinement of taste.
Some of the engravings included in the exposition belong to the genre of "Kateo-ga." In Japanese painting, this genre came from China. Experts attribute it to the landscape genre, but in chamber performance. In the "paintings of flowers and birds," the artists depicted living creatures and plants, but always in pairs. Often such engravings were accompanied by verses.
Visitors to the museum who celebrated their coming of age can continue to get acquainted with the collection of Oleg Malakhov, located in another room. This part of the collection of Japanese art is called "Shunga." The literal translation of this word is “spring pictures”.
On such engravings, Japanese artists sang sensual love. Different types of erotic scenes are presented here - from soft hints to complete frankness. The exhibition includes magnificent engravings belonging to the famous Japanese classics of the XVII - XIX centuries.
Both exhibitions await connoisseurs of Japanese art until July 4.
