OLD LADOGA. Since April 29, an exhibition entitled “Escaping Time” has been opened at the Staroladozh Museum-Reserve, representing a painting by St. Petersburg artist Vladimir Proshkin. Vladimir Viktorovich is a representative of the family, where several generations have devoted their lives to the profession of an artist. The names of these magnificent painters are well known to connoisseurs of painting.
The work of Vladimir Viktorovich worthily continues the traditions of the dynasty. Vladimir Proshkin began his career by studying at the famous art school of Leningrad, working at the Academy of Arts. His teacher was academician B.V. Johanson. Already in 1958, a talented artist became a member of the Union of Artists of St. Petersburg. Later, Vladimir Viktorovich became a member of the board of the St. Petersburg branch of the Union of Artists.
The work of the honored artist was noted with awards and prizes, but the most prestigious for Vladimir Viktorovich was the title awarded to his hometown - “The Best Artist of St. Petersburg”. The works created by Vladimir Proshkin, visited numerous exhibitions held in various countries. Among them was a substantial number of personal displays of the artist’s works. His paintings are stored in the collections of the most significant Russian museums.
Initially, Vladimir Viktorovich used various techniques in his work - from oil painting and watercolor to industrial graphics. The artist also worked successfully on book illustrations. Later, the main positions in his works were taken by painting. The main hobby of V. Proshkin was the writing of landscapes, for which he finds plots both in St. Petersburg and far from him.
