MOSCOW. Since May 12, two exhibitions have arrived at the Pushkin Museum on Prechistenka, arrived from Orenburg. Their exhibits belong to the collection of the regional museum of fine art. Both exhibitions represent twentieth-century artists creating their paintings in the genre of naive art.
A total of 118 works by thirty artists arrived from Orenburg to the capital. Some of them have long been considered recognized classics of naive art, which has become an intermediate link between professional and folk art. The expositions presented by the Orenburg Museum are only a small part of the unique collection collected over almost five decades.
Muscovites already saw the art of naive artists of Orenburg in the early nineties. In 1992, the works of S. Stepanov and V. Schneider were presented at the exhibition at the Central House of Artists, and the following year, some of the works of artists were shown at the House of Folk Art. Thanks to these shows, they learned about the work of masters of naive art abroad, and their works have been participants in international exhibitions more than once.
Exhibitions presented in the museum. Pushkin, became evidence of the relevance of the collection created by the employees of the Orenburg Museum. In one of the halls of the museum housed works dedicated to the Pushkin theme. The basis of the exposition, named by the organizers of the exhibition "My Pushkin" was a series of works belonging to the artist Vladimir Turbin. This series was created in 2013, when 180 years of Pushkin’s visit to their city were celebrated in Orenburg.
This section includes the work of other artists, whose works are dedicated to the Poet. The second exhibition is presented under the name "Naive Artists of the Orenburg Region".
Both exhibitions are open until August 22.
