NIZHNY NOVGOROD. Employees of the Nizhny Novgorod Art Museum have prepared an exhibition of Oleg Bordei, a famous Nizhny Novgorod artist, dedicated to his centenary. The main part of the exhibition is represented by works stored in the funds of the Art Museum.
Private collectors of Nizhny Novgorod also participated in the creation of the exposition. The exhibition includes works by the artist from seven private collections. Thanks to the creators of the exhibition, more than 80 works have been collected at the exposition. Among them are paintings and graphics.
Although Oleg Grigoryevich Bordei was a Muscovite by birth, after graduating from an art school in Gorky, he remained working in this Volga city. Having become a member of the Union of Artists in 1961, Oleg Bordei constantly participated in exhibitions of any scale - from all-Union to regional. Two solid solo exhibitions were presented to the public. These events, joyful for the artist, occurred in the mid-sixties and seventies in Gorky, even during the life of the master.
The exhibition presents various, not well-known pages of the works of Oleg Bordei. Landscapes created in the 50s tell about a young artist who prefers realism. In the years 60-80, the work of Oleg Bordei was different from realistic painting. During these years he was busy searching for new forms, his works were distinguished by a special expressiveness of the light-spatial environment.
The artist painted his works in different genres, but most of all he created landscapes. A special place in the work of Oleg Grigoryevich always occupied the Crimea, where he went every spring. In Gurzuf, the artist painted landscapes with magnificent Crimean views, which always attracted visitors to exhibitions.
The exhibition, which opened on April 28, awaits guests until the end of May.
