Exhibition in the St. Petersburg gallery "14/45" - "Cats of great artists" in the imagination of Andrei Sikorsky Automatic translate
ST. PETERSBURG. Many artists turn to the cat theme. However, in the paintings created by the artist Andrei Sikorsky, cats settled, looking not quite ordinary. Andrei Sikorsky gave the name “Cats of Great Artists” to his exhibition, which opened on March 19 at the St. Petersburg Gallery “14/45”.
Visiting the exhibition, you can see how the famous artists who created their works in various styles and directions of painting could represent the representatives of the cat family. Those who are familiar with the art of painting will find it easy to determine in the style of which of the masters each of Andrei Sikorsky’s works has been completed.
At the most prominent place in the exhibition space is a picture of dancing red cats. It is not difficult for connoisseurs to guess that only Matisse could paint such a picture. A blue cat, thoughtful at a table over a glass of absinthe - such a picture could belong to Picasso’s brush. And in the cat, screaming with horror on the bridge, you can find out the "work" of Munch.
At the opening of the exhibition, Marina Nikolaeva, a gallery employee, said that Andrei Sikorsky used digital painting, which is now a very popular genre, to create his works. Using special software on a computer, traditional instruments used by artists are imitated. However, for such work, the ability to use computers is not enough. Excellent knowledge of the laws and techniques of classical painting is required.
Creating the exposition, the organizers of the exhibition selected 21 works by Andrei Sikorsky for her. The artist combined serious painting and caricature of the works of great masters - this is what they say about the works of Sikorsky criticism.
At the exhibition, open until April 9, you can come with cats - as it is written on the poster.
