Museum "Erarta" presented in the Surgut Gallery of Modern Art "Sterkh" exhibition "Private Life" Automatic translate
SURGUT. The Sterkhfest festival marks the 15th anniversary of the Sterkh Gallery of Contemporary Art. Employees of the St. Petersburg Museum "Erarta" gave their colleagues, also involved in the display of works of art by our contemporaries, an excellent gift. As part of the festival program, they created an exhibition of the exhibition "Private Life", which presents paintings from the Erarta funds.
Until mid-April, residents of Surgut will be able to get acquainted with the canvases of artists dedicated to the private life of ordinary people - these are glow paintings depicting everyday scenes, family relationships, children and love. Vladimir Nazansky, curator of the opening exhibition, says that in Russian art, the private life of people has never been considered a significant topic. More often, artists used more global themes in their work.
However, the art critic believes that works with the presence of everyday scenes are filled with special poetry. The idea of creating a collection of this topic came up with Vladimir Nazansky after meeting with the works of Evgenia Golant, an artist from St. Petersburg. On her canvases, she captured bookshelves in the library of her deceased father.
Vladimir Nazansky explained that the creation of this series of works was inspired by the feeling of losing a loved one. Therefore, one of the reasons for the appearance of these paintings, was the desire in everyday things to preserve the memory of the person who used them. Most of the paintings presented in the exhibition are painted in a realistic manner, so they are understandable to any person, even if he is absolutely far from art.
Larisa Gurova, director of Sterkh, said that in the near future visitors will also see exhibitions created from works of art belonging to the gallery funds.
