Rostov art lovers in the regional museum of fine arts will see "Magic of watercolor" Automatic translate
ROSTOV-ON-DON. In the regional museum of fine arts, connoisseurs of the works of artists working in the complex watercolor technique are waiting. Its complexity is that it is impossible to correct works written in watercolor, so each of them is done in one go. The works created in watercolor technique combine the features of painting and graphics.
From painting with watercolors, a rich palette of colors was obtained, as well as the use of color in the construction of space and form. With graphics, watercolor makes related use of paper, a brushstroke, in which there is no relief inherent in the painting.
A watercolor technique, sometimes called “graphic painting,” was born in China, where paper was invented. The appearance of paper was the impetus for the birth of the watercolor technique. This means that the first watercolor works were created by artists more than two millennia ago.
The exhibition, which was opened on January 29 at the Rostov Museum of Fine Arts, called by its creators "Watercolor Magic", gathered in its exposition the works of masters of the twentieth century - in fact, of our contemporaries. Among the three dozen watercolor works presented at the exhibition, the oldest ones were created in the 40s.
For a month, visitors to the museum will be able to see unique watercolors selected for the exhibition from the museum’s collection. Different genres of works allow you to see the individuality of the work of each of the masters of watercolor. The subjects of the presented works are also of interest. The exposition included a cycle of watercolors written by A. M. Gerasimov, USSR people’s artist. These works were created by the master in the early fifties, when Gerasimov traveled to India. During the trip, he painted watercolors with views of Indian towns and portraits of local residents.
