OMSK. On the eve of its birthday, the Omsk Art Museum invited guests to the opening of the 1/12 Omsk exhibition. The exhibition is dedicated to two anniversaries at the same time - the Omsk Art Museum celebrates its 25th anniversary, and the city of Omsk marks 300 years this year. This is the secret of such an unusual name of the exhibition - if you divide the 300 years of the city’s life by the time the museum operates, you will get just one twelfth.

Creating the anniversary exposition, the museum staff decided not to include in it the works created before 1991, the time of the opening of the Omsk Art. The museum collection has a sufficient number of significant works worthy of stealing the permanent exhibition of the city museum, but due to lack of space they are rarely shown to the public.

The anniversary exposition selected paintings that depict city landscapes. Each year, out of twenty-five years lived by the museum, there corresponds one canvas created precisely in this year. Naturally, in these years the museum collection was replenished with works of other genres, but the organizers of the exhibition considered it necessary to show how the artist saw the city in a particular year.

In addition to 25 paintings, the exhibition was complemented by an installation consisting of squares of the same size, each of which housed exhibition posters, photographs of events taking place in the museum. Of the three hundred squares, twenty-five were set aside under the red-blue logo of the museum. So the creators of the exhibition emphasized its name - “1/12 Omsk”.

With congratulations to the museum, many guests arrived and no less than a variety of gifts. Artists presented paintings, books, and a certificate for the purchase of a multimedia equipment system was a gift from the Omsk Administration.

The anniversary exhibition awaits visitors until March 20.
