Valery and Anastasia Polotnov presented their work in the hall of the Union of Artists with the exhibition "Look into the Present" Automatic translate
MOSCOW. “A Look Into the Present” - under this name in the exhibition hall of the Union of Artists two artists presented their work, connected not only by a common profession, but also by close family relationships - father and daughter Polotnov. Valery Polotnov selected his paintings to create an exposition, and Anastasia Valerevna - graphic works made using the technique of color lithography.
According to the works included in the exhibition, it is clearly seen that for each of the artists, the closest genre is landscapes. Although the exhibition presents enough works with views of ancient Russian cities, the Russian hinterland remains a favorite topic for both artists. In one of the paintings, Valery Polotnov captured the landscape of his long deserted native land (the artist was born in the Gorky region), which depicts a field overgrown with weeds.
Anastasia Polotnova, who was born in a big city, has a village theme displayed in a different perspective. In her works, rural life looks like a little paradise - there, on the river bank, you can fly a kite, relax, comfortably sitting in a hammock, roll a book in your hands on the beach, and a slice of a juicy watermelon will add comfort to lazy outdoor recreation.
The exhibition also features works resulting from the impressions received by father and daughter on their recent trip to the North. They visited the places where the film "Leviathan" was shot. The exposition housed the views of the Teriberka made by Valery Polotnov. In his paintings, the banks of the river, where boats and longboats die. The background of the picture becomes a symbol of eternity - mountains, rocks, the sea.
The works of Polotnov’s father and daughter, who adequately represent realism in contemporary art, can be seen in the exhibition hall of the Union of Artists on December 3rd.
