"Romantic Realism" - paintings by Soviet artists at an exhibition in the Manege Automatic translate
MOSCOW. On November 5, a unique exhibition was opened at the Central Exhibition Hall "Manege", the exposition of which housed paintings created by famous artists in 1925-1945. On the poster of the opening exhibition, the title is “Romantic Realism”. The works presented in this exposition have never been assembled in a single space.
Of the 82 works housed in the exhibition hall, you can always see only 14 paintings included in the permanent exhibitions of museums. All others sometimes appear at temporary exhibitions, but are most often stored in storage. Some of them are familiar from textbooks - these are portraits of outstanding leaders, paintings with images of ordinary workers, leaders in peace days and times of battle.
The exhibition is divided into 12 sections, each of which is devoted to one of the main topics of Soviet mythology. Almost in each of the sections are the works of Isaac Brodsky, an artist who is considered the official artist of the country of the Soviets. One of them, preceding the exhibition, depicts famous participants in the opening of the II Congress of the Comintern. In those years, they played an important role in the country, but after some time turned into a rogue.
The organizers of the exhibition did not expect that the works presented in the exhibition would be so interesting to visitors. On the first day of her work, it was difficult to approach some canvases. Especially a lot of spectators were at the canvas "Defense of Sevastopol", written by Alexander Deineka. Visitors to the exhibition stayed for a long time at the painting by the artist Laktionov “Letter from the Front”, awarded the Stalin Prize. An unusual composition of the painting “After the Battle” written by Petrov-Vodkin aroused interest among visitors.
You can join the Manege guests wishing to get acquainted with the unique exhibition until November 22.
