Rybchenkov B. Leningradskoye Shosse
The opening of the exhibition will take place on October 16 in Rome, in one of the main centers of art - the Palazzo delle Esposizioni exhibition palace. The exposition "Leningradskoye Shosse" will coexist with other works from the collections of the largest museums in Russia, including the Tretyakov Gallery and the Russian Museum. In total, the public will see about sixty works of painting and graphics of the XX century, as well as the work of modern masters.
Before being sent to Italy, the Leningradskoye Shosse was examined by the restorers of the Irkutsk Art Museum. Above, under the frame, they found a handprint - someone grabbed the canvas until the paint had dried. Perhaps it was the author himself - Boris Rybchenkov. The picturesque, densely Leningradskoye Shosse dates from 1935. You can see the “new” Moscow in the picture: trams and a trolleybus go along the route, people are in a hurry, new buildings have appeared in the constructivist style. The mood of the picture can be called lyrical. Harmony and picturesqueness - these are the properties that attract the viewer in the works of Boris Rybchenkov.
The painting came to the collection of the Irkutsk Art Museum almost immediately after its creation. Residents and visitors of the city could see the “Leningradskoye Shosse” in the main exhibition of the museum in the hall, where Soviet art of the 20-30s of the last century is presented.
The exhibition "Russia: by plane, train, car" will be in Italy in Rome in October-December 2015, and later - from January to May 2016 in the IRRI halls in Moscow. In the second half of 2016, the canvas will return home - to the Irkutsk Art Museum.
