MOSCOW. Until October 11th at the Pushkin Museum. Pushkin awaits visitors with an exhibition that continues the tradition that was born in the museum - a combination of classical and contemporary art. The exposition of the exhibition, presented under the name "Rembrandt, Another View", is composed of works created by Moscow artist Dmitry Gutov. Next to them, in a single exhibition space, are paintings and etchings, authored by the great Dutch master.

Specially, on the eve of this exhibition, Dmitry Gutov wrote a composition, the creation of which was inspired by the artist’s drawing by Rembrandt, belonging to the Pushkin Museum collection. He is known as "A young woman with a child…". Other drawings by a Moscow artist using plots by Rembrandt, born almost four centuries earlier by Dmitry Gutov, are also presented.

The organizers of the exhibition moved the canvas “Artaxerxes, Aman and Esther” written by Rembrandt in 1660 from the permanent exhibition hall, and etchings belonging to the museum collection were placed next to it. They are dated to the middle of the 17th century.

Dmitry Gutov has been fond of the work of the Dutch master since childhood. He did not succeed in working with the Rembrandt scripts - this is prohibited by museum rules. Even the Moscow Museum did not make an exception for the artist. From travels, he brings albums, studies reproductions, and then creates his works.

The exhibition in the Pushkin Museum was created on the initiative of the director of the museum, Marina Loshak. At the birth of this idea, she had doubts about the possibility of its implementation. Marina Loshak was worried about how the exhibition of the avant-garde artist would fit into the classical museum space. It turned out that even the most fastidious connoisseurs - museum keepers - liked it.
