PETROZAVODSK. Gallery "Doll House" presented an exhibition of watercolor works by Anna Mikhailova. This Russian artist prefers watercolor technique. Under the name "GeoGraphics", she has been working in the exhibition space of the gallery since August 7th. Her exposition consists of new works created by A. Mikhailova over the past two years.
Most of the exhibition hall, where the exhibition is located, is filled with sketches written by the artist in the open air. The routes of her creative trips ran through the regions of the Kola Peninsula and the Republic of Karelia. The watercolors show the most beautiful corners of the Russian North, the land that conquered the artist forever with its unusual beauty. Watercolor landscapes are complemented by illustrations that revive the legendary world of fairy tales created by the indigenous peoples of the North. Illustrations are also made in watercolor.
Anna Mikhailova was born in St. Petersburg. She received an art education in her native city, graduating from the Drawing classes at the Art Academy. Her teachers were S. Melnikov. V. Volkov, A. Durandin. Anna Mikhailova was engaged in watercolor and oil painting.
In 2007, the artist’s works for the first time took part in joint exhibitions held by the Society of Watercolorists. Since then, Anna Mikhailova has presented her work at personal exhibitions, which have been repeatedly held in major cities of the northern region of Russia and St. Petersburg
The artist is engaged in pedagogical work. Workshops where Mikhailova teaches future masters of watercolor technique are very popular. She often organizes plein airs for artists of all ages. Her works are readily acquired by collectors from different countries.
The exhibition can be visited on October 3.
