The works of Tver icon painters, written in the 16-19th centuries, were famous throughout Russia. Many of the icons on display previously adorned the temples of the Tver land. Among them, you can see icons depicting Tver saints, painted by masters of icon painting in the 17-19 centuries, as well as wooden sculptures of the 19th century, made by Ostashkov carvers.

Ostashkovo for several centuries was one of the famous Russian art centers. Entire dynasties of artists lived there - Verziny and Kolokolnikovs. The exhibition includes unique portraits painted by representatives of these families. The name of A. Venetsianov, a famous Russian painter, is associated with the Tver region. The exhibition presents several works by masters, as well as artists whose names are well known to all lovers of painting - A. Kuindzhi, I. Brodsky.
