Russian Museum shows visitors works of art donated by authors and collectors Automatic translate
ST. PETERSBURG. On July 22, the Russian Museum presented visitors an exhibition, the exposition of which is composed of works received in the museum collection after 1998. It was in that year that the last exhibition was held, where museum employees showed works of art added to the museum’s collection.
Over these 16 years, the Russian Museum has been presented with more than 12 thousand works. THEIR authors are not only illustrious masters, but also artists whose craftsmanship today is not sufficiently appreciated. Almost immediately after the exhibition of ointments, he received a unique collection as a gift, which was included in the permanent exhibition of the Marble Palace. The gift was received from famous collectors of the Rzhevsky brothers.
In addition to this invaluable collection, the museum collection was constantly replenished with works of art from authors and collectors. More than two thousand exhibits were acquired during this time in the ownership of the Russian Museum. The organizers of the exhibition believe that the Russian Museum is the keeper of a beautiful collection, but it should be replenished further. To accomplish this is not too simple - the museum has few own funds, and donors are becoming less and less.
Although no more than a tenth of the works of art that have come to the museum’s collections over the years have been selected from the storerooms, the exhibition has been impressive. It presents both old Russian art and paintings made in the 18-19 centuries. A large part of the exhibition is the work of our contemporaries and artists of the past century.
They placed the exhibition in the Benoit building, having allocated several halls for it. Among the authors represented at the exhibition, new names appeared, and individual masters are represented in more detail.
