Museum of the East celebrates the 30th anniversary of its branch in Maykop with the exhibition "Artists of the North Caucasus" Automatic translate
MOSCOW. In the Museum of the East, in honor of the 30th anniversary of its North Caucasian branch, the exhibition "Artists of the North Caucasus" has been opened since July 10. Visitors to the museum will see an exposition consisting of paintings and graphic works by contemporary artists living in this region.
The organizers of the exhibition created an exposition, which housed about eighty works that reflect the traditions and characteristics of national art, characteristic of the peoples of the North Caucasus, where the population is multinational in composition. At the exhibition you can get acquainted with the work of artists representing the Republic of Kabardino-Balkaria, Adygea, Karachay-Cherkessia.
In the works of each of the artists, the national roots respected by the authors are felt. However, their work is not limited to the cultural boundaries of their region. Many artists are well known outside their own republics. Their work is becoming an adornment not only of Russian museums. The works created by Muhadin Kishev were acquired by the royal family of Spain for their collection.
The opening ceremony was attended by Alexander Sedov, director general of the museum. He said in his speech that the branch of the Oriental Museum was created in Maykop so that artists from the southern regions had their own exhibition area. The opened exhibition is not too large, but it contains works reflecting the creative potential of contemporary artists representing the southern edge of our country. Fatima Suleymanova, head of the museum’s scientific department, in her speech noted Ossetia as a republic where the best painters live.
The exhibition "Artists of the North Caucasus", which arrived from Maykop, is open until July 28.
