YEKATERINBURG. Since May 16, the Museum of Fine Arts has been waiting for fans of naive art at a unique exhibition. This exhibition was opened on the initiative of the mayor of Yekaterinburg. All exhibits included in the exhibition are provided by Evgeny Roizman from his collection.
The museum provided eight halls of its exhibition space for the collection. Speaking to the media, Yevgeny Roizman said that the size of the exhibition came as a surprise to him. Picture gallery on the street Weiner was given over to the exhibition completely, but the entire collection in it did not fit. This collection of "naive" in Russia is considered the largest collection.
In the future, all paintings will move to the Museum of Naive Art. In the near future it will be opened in a building located on the street. Roses Luxembourg. The museum said that in the life of Yekaterinburg this exhibition, which precedes the appearance of a new museum in the city, is a significant event.
Its importance is not even that on such a scale the display of naive art is held for the first time. This project convincingly shows that in Russia the tradition of transferring a personal collection as a gift to one’s native city is beginning to revive. The Museum of Naive Art, which is about to open, will certainly be interesting to visitors.
The opening exhibition presents the work of more than thirty artists. Most of them are Ural masters. Among them are authors known not only in Russia. The works performed by Albert Korovkin and Nina Varfolomeeva were included in the publication “World Encyclopedia of Naive Art”.
Roizman’s collection contains icons of the 17-18th century, painted by masters of the Russian North, a selection of icons of the Ural masters and the Dnieper. You can see the collection of the mayor on June 21st.
