TYUMEN. Museum complex to them. Slovtsova, by opening the exhibition "Roads of War", joined the celebration of the anniversary of Victory Day. The first visitors came to the halls of the Tyumen Museum of Fine Arts on April 24 to get acquainted with the front-line sketches of artists who went through the war roads.
More than two hundred drawings included in the exposition were kept in the museum collection. Most of the works that became the basis of the exhibition were made by Moscow artist Girshon Kravtsov. This first-class artist brought from the front not only awards, but also miraculously preserved a huge archive of his sketches created in short free minutes. In total, there were about four hundred front-line drawings in his archive.
Part of these unique works of Kravtsov in the 70s became part of the collection of the Museum of Fine Arts. Later, museum staff arranged a meeting with his widow. She transferred to the museum her husband’s letters received from the front, Kravtsov was a student of Vladimir Favorsky, a classic of modern graphics. Returning from the front, Kravtsov was in demand as an illustrator, worked in publishing houses.
Tyumen charts are presented at the exhibition in small collections - from four to ten front-line drawings. The oldest masters of Tyumen - Veniamin Baryshev and Stepan Lopatin, Ivan Kotovschikov and Alesander Murychev, professional artists of the Tyumen region, went to the front at the very beginning of the war.
In the drawings, everything that they saw around them - portraits of fellow soldiers, deserted villages, front-line life. Artists sought to preserve the events of the history of which they were participants. Almost on every picture, the recordings are preserved; the pictures made sometimes interest the audience even more than the drawings
