The regional branch of the Union of Artists celebrated the eightieth anniversary of the People’s Artist of the Russian Federation Anatoly Ladnov with a large-scale exhibition, combining all the diversity of the hero’s work. The opening of a personal exhibition, uniting 450 works of Anatoly Ludnov in the space of the Exhibition Hall of the Union of Artists, took place on March 13.

The painter was born in Miass, and after graduation from the Metropolitan Institute. Surikov, moved to Chelyabinsk, where for many years he worked as a teacher in an art school. Although Chelyabinsk has long become a hometown for the artist, he came to Miass for sketches almost every year, then served as the basis for creating magnificent landscapes.

Over the years of his work, Anatoly Ladnov has become a recognized master who has created a substantial number of paintings on historical and contemporary themes, vivid portraits with images of our contemporaries, lyrical landscapes. His works have been worthily appreciated by numerous awards, acquired by many museums in Russia and other countries.

Among them are such prestigious ones as the UNESCO Order, received for successes in fine art, the Silver Order for the service of art, the Gold Medal of the Union of Artists of the Russian Federation. Among the Chelyabinsk masters of pictorial art, Alexander Ladnov is the only painter awarded the title of People’s Artist of the Russian Federation. The masters noted this honorary title of merit in 2007.

To date, the artist’s favorite genre is landscapes. He goes to sketches several times a year, from where he brings dozens of almost finished works. At the exhibition, you can see the magnificent still lifes created by the painter and large genre canvases, dedicated to an invariable topic - the life of the inhabitants of the Ural Territory.
