A new exhibition hall on Vasilyevsky Sharp opened with the exhibition "No to War!" Automatic translate
ST. PETERSBURG. A new exhibition space has appeared on the Sea Embankment of Vasilyevsky Island - an exhibition hall owned by the St. Petersburg Union of Artists. Its opening took place on March 20th. On the same day, the first exhibition was presented, called by its organizers "No to war!" This project is dedicated to the anniversary Victory Day.
The exposition has collected more than two hundred exhibits. Among them are paintings and works of sculptors created in more than half a century. The earliest works of art presented at the exhibition were executed in the 50s. Their creators are St. Petersburg artists, many of whom were known even in those years when Petersburg bore the name Leningrad.
A special place at the exhibition is given to works whose authors traveled the road of war and experienced all the hardships of life associated with wartime. Most of their names are familiar to every connoisseur of pictorial and sculptural art. These are the names of the most prominent masters, with their unique works representing the works of Soviet artists.
Modern painters and sculptors, addressing in their works the theme of war and victory, show in them their thoughts on the continuity of generations, on tragedy and feat, giving them an emotional sound. Most of the exhibition hall is occupied by thematic canvases, where the plots reveal the artists’ attitude to war, as a temporary phenomenon. Eternal can only be the beauty of nature.
The creators of the exhibition allocated a separate room for the works of authors whose work is attributed to non-academic areas. Their sharp and topical works are devoted to events taking place today.
The exhibition “No to War!” Runs on April 5th.
