"Oranges in the Blue Aspen" - painting by Valentina Diffine-Christie in Yekaterinburg Automatic translate
EKATERIEBURG. “Oranges in a blue aspen” - under this name, on March 27, an exhibition opened in the Museum of Fine Arts of Yekaterinburg, allowing visitors to find themselves in the world of painting created by Valentina Diffine-Christi. The style in which the Moscow artist painted paintings, art historians attribute to "spiritual impressionism."
The exhibition features 35 paintings, painted by the artist in the 1960-1990s. They are supplemented by graphic sheets of the same years. The paintings presented at the exhibition are selected in such a way that they can be used to trace the formation of the unique artistic manner characteristic of Valentina Diffine-Christie.
When examining the exposition, it is clearly visible that in each next painting the artist uses less and less saturated colors. Gradually, her canvases become lighter, colored paints practically disappear from them. In the last stage of her work, Valentina Mikhailovna actually used only whitewash, occasionally adding a fraction of other colors to them.
If her early canvases were written in a very dense painting, and the colors are very saturated, then in the future the painting layer becomes much easier, and the color palette acquires light and cold tones. Her paintings, written after the 60s, are increasingly inherent in the abstract style of writing, where there are no clearly defined contours of objects.
It is interesting that Valentina Mikhailovna, being a member of the Union of Artists, fulfilled orders for paintings depicting the civil war and collective farm life. However, in these works she did not change her style. Even the portraits of the leading workers in the production of the artist were painted in her characteristic manner.
Valentina Diffine-Christie’s original painting can be seen on April 26th.
