An exhibition of the work of Vasily Rozhdestvensky has opened in the Tula Art Museum Automatic translate
TULA. Until March 5, connoisseurs of painting will be able to visit the unique exhibition that opened on February 6 at the regional art museum. Museum staff presented an exposition created from the works of their fellow countryman, the famous representative of the Russian avant-garde Vasily Rozhdestvensky, dedicating her display to the 130th anniversary of the artist.
The collections of the Tula Museum contain a substantial number of works performed by Vasily Rozhdestvensky. A significant part of them was received by the museum from the widow of the artist. Visitors to the exhibition will see several dozen paintings created by the painter for three decades, starting from the 20s of the last century. The residents of Tula will see some of them for the first time.
Over the years of creativity, Rozhdestvensky tried to create his works using different styles of fine art. Although the artist studied at the Moscow Art School, and he had an academic education, he was attracted to avant-garde genres.
He was the organizer and most active participant in the art association "Jack of Diamonds", which was widely known in the art world. Among the members of this association, who were close friends of Rozhdestvensky, such famous names as Pyotr Konchalovsky and Alexander Kuprin, Ilya Mashkov and Robert Falk.
All the time of World War I, Vasily Rozhdestvensky was part of the army, and after demobilization he worked as a teacher and participated in public work. At the same time, he worked hard on creating his own works. His creative heritage consists of hundreds of still lifes and landscapes, portraits and posters presented in paintings and graphics. The artist was a regular participant in exhibitions held abroad and at home.
