Personal exhibition of Irina Smykova - "Life Stories", revived in the painting of trays Automatic translate
LOWER TAGIL. Employees of the Nizhny Tagil Museum of Fine Arts provided two exhibition halls to host a personal exhibition of Irina Smykova. A well-known artist in the city is engaged in painting trays, however, the presented exposition consists not only of numerous author’s trays. The artist included in her solo exhibition paintings, graphics, as well as her own poems.
The first profession of Irina Smykova was far from painting. After studying at an agricultural technical school, she received a veterinarian diploma. Two years later, in 1980, Irina, entering the Enamelware Factory, became a student of the famous craftswoman Tamara Yudina. And four years later, the young artist became a member of a creative group engaged in the development of plot murals for trays.
Since 1986, after studying at the famous center of miniature painting Fedoskino, Irina became a member of a group of artists engaged in the development of author’s trays, decorated with plot painting. In her first works, the artist used the popular style, written using the traditional Ural technique “two-color brushstroke”. They were praised as original works of authorship.
Ten years later, Irina Smykova moved on to more complex compositional and color schemes in the painting of trays, while simultaneously starting to use multi-layer painting. In each of the trays, decorated with a painting by the artist, Irina Smykova’s unique author’s signature is visible.
In her plot compositions live characters born in real life, who were born from sayings and ditties. The artist gave the name of her exhibition collection - “Life Stories”. You can see these bright, funny, and sometimes ironic stories until March 15
