In Novokuznetsk, an anniversary exhibition of the Honored Artist of the Russian Federation Nikolai Rothko Automatic translate
NOVOKUZNETSK. Nikolai Rothko, Honored Artist of the Russian Federation, celebrated his seventieth birthday with a personal exhibition in the Novokuznetsk Art Museum. This year, the artist, whose work is known far beyond the city limits, celebrates another anniversary. His career began 45 years ago. Nikolai Rothko has been living in Novokuznetsk since 1969.
Initially, Nikolai Rothko was known as a talented ceramic artist, but in the late eighties he began to paint. Since then, this is his main form of artistic creativity. The anniversary exhibition may well be called retrospective, since the artist collected works performed in different years in it, including in it the ones written in the current year.
The jubilee exhibition features eighty large-scale paintings, as well as a substantial amount of small works. This exhibition shows how much time the artist gives to creativity. Among the works housed in the exhibition halls, about sixty were created by the painter during the past year.
The paintings, created by Nikolai Rothko, are distinguished by a vivid emotionality of images, special monumental decorativeness. His paintings are stored in the collections of museums in Siberia, as well as in the collection of the Museum of Modern Art, working at the Russian Academy of Arts.
It is wonderful when a family consists of talented people who are dedicated to creativity. The wife of the painter Olga Rothko is also an artist, only she is busy with metal art painting. Part of the exposition was occupied by her work, so the opening exhibition was not only an anniversary, but also a family one. On the trays created by Olga Rothko, you can see stories from fairy tales, landscapes, still lifes, architectural motifs, as well as traditional compositions from flowers.
