SALEHARD. A personal exhibition of Vasily Samburov, a famous Salekhard artist, is open at the Art Center, owned by the cultural center "House of Crafts". For the exhibition, the artist selected 24 paintings depicting landscapes of the North. They have been completed in the last two years. The painter himself admitted that visitors to the exhibition will see only a small part of his work, he would like to show a much larger number of paintings from his home collection.

However, from the paintings chosen to create the exhibition, it becomes clear how diverse the artist’s work is. The canvases made by Vasily Samburov date back to different years. For each of them, the artist found a special way of painting technique, which allows emphasizing the beauty and originality of the nature of Yamal, inspiring the artist to create new paintings.

Each painting, belonging to the brush of Samburov, is colorful and emotional. Most of the paintings are painted with wide strokes, which is a very time-consuming technique. It can take up to a year of painstaking work to create such a canvas, since it takes a lot of time to completely dry the paint.

Over the years of his work, the artist has performed more than four thousand paintings, painted using a variety of pictorial techniques. His canvases, on which Samburov next to his signature indicates the city that became his homeland - Salekhard, have been seen in various cities of our country, including the capital’s galleries and the Hammer Center, as well as in Helsinki, Zurich and Washington.

The next exhibition of his works, which Vasily Samburov is preparing for, will be shown next year, in the hall of the Moscow House of Scientists. All paintings planned to be included in the exhibition will be dedicated to the Arctic.
