Thanks to cooperation with the Albertina Museum, visitors to the exhibition were given the opportunity to see how graphic design is associated with paintings. The exhibition includes paintings, sketches for which came from the Vienna Museum.
Vitaliy Mishin, who is the curator of the exhibition, said at the opening that the painting “Venus by the Volcano”, owned by the State Museum of Fine Arts, was presented at the exhibition, and a drawing had arrived from Vienna, on the basis of which it was created. The figure shows how the design of the future picture was born, how work was carried out on its composition.
On some drawings, a square grid is applied - in those days, a graphic work was prepared for its transfer to another format. The organizers of the exhibition placed part of the works in the hall where the exposition of French art is located. Thanks to this technique, one can compare paintings and graphic works created by one author.
