On the occasion of the 65th anniversary of Dmitry Sandzhiev, People’s Artist of the Russian Federation, an anniversary exhibition was opened in the halls of the Academy of Arts on October 28, a visit to which will provide an opportunity to get acquainted with all the facets of the talent of a famous artist. The exposition consists of works created by the artist in the fields of painting and graphics. In total, more than one hundred works are placed in the exhibition halls, some of which were performed by Dmitry Sandzhiev over the past few years.

In the artist’s work, graphic works are side by side with picturesque canvases, on which an unusual, fantastic world comes to life, filled with bright colors. In the graphic sheets created by Dmitry Sandzhiev, the black and white color suddenly becomes uniquely picturesque.

The series of drawings, united under the name "Dreams", is filled with mysterious mystery. The numerous details with which the compositions are filled give them dynamics and expression, and sudden changes in their scale make the images important for the plot of the drawing significant.

Sandzhiev’s painting is characterized by ornamentalism and symbolism of color, which gives his work sophistication and decorativeness. In many works of Dmitry Sandzhiev it is not difficult to find plots of legends, legends, known in the world of myths. On his canvases, the artist creates an imaginary world where the motives of the East and West are organically combined.

Today in the artist’s creative baggage there are more than 170 exhibitions, where his works participated. Many of the artist’s works are awarded. A year after the September catastrophe of 2001, which happened in New York, the “Split Time” polytype created by Sanjiev was donated by the artist to the US Congress.
