NIZHNY NOVGOROD. An art exhibition was opened at the Art Museum on October 10, where three Nizhny Novgorod artists who participated in an international project called the “Festival of Color” united their work in a single space. Within the framework of the project, the canvases made by Natalia Pankova, Galina Kakovkina and Vyacheslav Grachev visited several European countries for 2 years.
The first exhibition of the project was shown in 2012, in the capital of Austria, then the residents of Budapest saw it. In the capital of Hungary, paintings by Nizhny Novgorod artists were shown during the Days of Culture of Nizhny Novgorod that took place there. During the exhibition in Budapest, she was visited by a delegation led by Oleg Sorokin, the head of Nizhny Novgorod. It also included politicians and entrepreneurs of the city.
In the spring of 2013, the exhibition was presented in Slovakia, in the building of the Russian Center for Culture and Science, located in Bratislava. The idea of organizing the project belongs to the Nizhny Novgorod Russian Art Fund and the representative office of the Russian Foreign Ministry. Now connoisseurs of the art of painting in Nizhny Novgorod can also get acquainted with the exhibition.
The Nizhny Novgorod art historians present at the opening of the exhibition unanimously noted that, despite the different manner of painting, the canvases of the authors organically look in a single exposition. The head of the city also attended the opening.
Welcoming the exhibitors, Oleg Sorokin said that the project with the participation of Nizhny Novgorod artists, seen by the inhabitants of Europe, is important for promoting Nizhny Novgorod at the international level. In response, Natalia Pankova, on behalf of the authors of the exhibition, thanked the organizers of the exhibition for the opportunity to show their work to residents of their native city.
