MOSCOW. For only five days in the Central House of Artists, one can see a personal exhibition of the young Chinese artist Tian Qi, who begins to show his works in European countries from the Russian capital. This exhibition, which opened on September 30, is being held in connection with the 65th anniversary of the diplomatic relations between the Republic of China and Russia.
Another reason for the arrival of this exhibition in Moscow was the passing Year of Youth Cultural Exchanges between Russia and China. The author of the works presented at the exposition holds the post of Director of the Dongfang Goyun Academy, whose name translates as "Oriental Masterpieces."
Tian Qi has been studying the classical culture of China for many years. The artist’s paintings on the themes of Buddhism and mercy have already visited seventeen Asian countries. Now lovers of Chinese art of European countries will be able to get acquainted with the artist’s works.
In his work, Tian Qi uses the ancient technique of Gohua, the study of which he devoted several years. This technique is ink painting on a silk basis, or on special porous paper. At the same time, Tian Qi studied the art of calligraphy.
Part of the exhibition is dedicated to the plots traditional in Chinese painting. In the paintings, the images of the heroines of ancient Chinese legends and fairy tales come to life. He writes Tian Qi and his contemporaries. Images of Chinese beauties made by the artist are supplemented with poetic texts that reveal the plot of the paintings. Another series of works is devoted to pandas. Having the appearance of predatory animals, pandas are herbivorous animals, for this reason they have become a symbol of peace for the artist.
In his works, Tian Qi, who received the title of "Messenger of Chinese art", successfully combines modern plots with national traditions.
