South Hermitage presents an exhibition of Crimean and Russian painters Automatic translate
SEVASTOPOL. Since August 4, an exhibition has been open in the exhibition space of the South Hermitage Gallery, combining about a hundred works of art. These paintings were painted by contemporary artists of the Crimea, Moscow and Russian authors who worked in the second half of the twentieth century, whose names are already among the classics of the past century.
The idea of creating an exhibition originated in the Union of Artists of the Russian Federation. The organization, uniting the masters of art of Russia, began to actively implement its idea. The work on organizing the exhibition’s exposition was supported by Sevastopol museum workers, providing from their collections canvases belonging to the brush of famous classics.
The bulk of the classical works in the exposition of the opened exhibition belongs to the funds of the Museum. M.P. Kroshnitsky and the famous museum of defense of Sevastopol. The combination in the single exhibition space of paintings by famous classics with works written by our contemporaries, allows gallery visitors to see how strong the traditions in the modern art of painting are.
Another goal of the created exhibition is to show the works of contemporary artists of the Crimea, as well as their integration into the art space of Russia. Such an exhibition was created for the first time after the unification of Crimea with Russia. According to Nikolai Borovsky, the first secretary of the Union of Artists, the opening of this exhibition is important for the current difficult political situation.
The guests of honor attended the opening ceremony. These included representatives of the government of the Republic of Crimea and sailors of the Black Sea Fleet. Each of the guests was awarded with commemorative signs.
Everyone can see the works of Crimean and Moscow artists until August 24th.
