The world through the eyes of one artist. Exhibition in memory of Boris Bomstein Automatic translate
August 15 at 16:00 in the Kaluga Museum of Fine Arts (Lenin St., 103) opens the exhibition "Peace through the eyes of one artist. Exhibition in memory of Boris Bomstein. "
This exhibition project is dedicated to the memory of the recently deceased famous Moscow artist Boris Bomshtein.
Boris Yurievich Bomshtein (1938-2013) - an artist who worked in the style of primitivism. Born and spent his whole life in Moscow. In 1963 he graduated from the Moscow Theater Art College. In 1971 he graduated from the Moscow Higher Art and Industrial College (Stroganov). Member of Russian artists and exhibition group "Bush".
A retrospective exhibition will present the artist’s works created in different periods of his life, which will give a general idea of various topics in the work of Boris Bomshtein. At the exhibition, scenography, cityscape, portraits of the artist’s relatives, childhood memories, fantasy works, as well as several graphic works will be presented to visitors. However, despite the breadth of the exhibited works, this is only a small part of the works created by the artist.
Boris Bomshtein’s painting is surprisingly soulful and bright. His work is a reflection of the microcosm of a person with a young, ageless soul, since they found an artistic embodiment of the world of childhood, in which fantasy and reality are closely intertwined. In the paintings of Boris Bomshtein, the familiar streets of Moscow are transformed: the colors are always juicy and bright easily flow into each other, and the curved lines of buildings, striving into the depths of perspective, set the general rhythm of movement for the entire canvas. Movement is one of the leading features of the artist’s painting. The dynamic style of writing gives the objects of the image the energy of the rhythm of life, whether it is capturing the views of the cityscape, transport, varied fantasies or even portraits. At the same time, the presentation of material in the interpretation of the primitive style of depiction, with the flattening of forms inherent in this style, only enhances the feeling of childish naivety and the artist’s ability to perceive the world openly and cleanly, as children do.
We express hope that the sincere, authorial manner of presentation will not leave you indifferent to the works and works of this talented artist presented at the exhibition.
The museum is open from 10:00 to 18:00, on Thursday from 11:00 to 19:00. The day off is Monday. The last Friday of the month is a sanitary day.
