NIZHNY NOVGOROD. On June 27, the Nizhny Novgorod Exhibition Complex presented to the public an exhibition of the works of the People’s Artist of the Russian Federation Anatoly Lyubavin. The exhibition includes more than a hundred works of painting and graphics, some of which the author has combined in a series devoted to certain topics.

According to art historians involved in the study of Lyubavin’s work, the author’s work on each of the series of paintings lasts several years. At the same time, the artist seeks to maximally reflect in his works the essence of the topic to which they are devoted. The main objective of his work Lyubavin considers his emotional impact on the viewer.

The use of original finds in his paintings in the ways of embodying the images that appear on the canvases of the painter allows you to use special techniques of plastic construction of space. Such an approach to his work makes it possible for Anatoly Lyubavin to create surprisingly vivid, expressive paintings that amaze the audience with their musical sound.

In the canvases created by the painter, color contrasts of saturated colors are successfully combined with an elegant linear pattern, which serves to combine objects in the picture. Sometimes Anatoly Lyubavin uses an interesting technique in his work, called the “principle of cubic crushing of volumes”.

In this case, the artist "breaks" the subject into a large number of parts, and then these pieces become a new image. At the same time, the picturesque texture receives a flickering effect, attracting viewers to the canvas, which has unusual properties. Among the paintings placed at the exhibition, “Breakfast on the Grass”, “Night Phloxes”, “Evening Hour” were made in this way.
