Exhibition of paintings dedicated to John Lennon, opened in Rostov Automatic translate
GROWTH. For those residents of Rostov who still consider the famous Liverpool four the best of the musical groups that existed in the world, the regional Museum of Fine Arts has prepared a real gift. The exhibition, which opened on May 20 at the museum, presents the work of the Dnepropetrovsk artist Vitaliy Shcherbak, dedicated to the leader of the Beatles group, who tragically died John Lennon.
The exhibition is presented under the title - "John Lennon - Man of the World." Her exposition consists of 24 portraits of the musician. Each portrait is a Lennon painted on the background of the flag of one of the countries, the political situation in which is unstable. It is worth noting that the Ukrainian flag is also present in the picture, but this painting has nothing to do with today’s events - Vitaliy Shcherbak painted this picture a year earlier.
Each of the paintings the artist added with the inscription - "Imagine the world." These inscriptions are made in the languages of the states whose flags are placed on the paintings. Canvases without frames are arranged in such a way that they look like a solid wall. So the artist decided to emphasize that Lennon was a man who was not constrained by any framework.
Although the financial situation of the Dnepropetrovsk painter is not simple, he does not sell portraits of Lennon, although there were such proposals. The artist hopes that his paintings will help people remember the 60s. Then, for many young people, the main slogans of their life became words - peace and love.
Vitaliy Shcherbak said that his exhibition was invited to the Liverpool airport, named after John Lennon. Only in order to deliver the paintings there, the artist needs to find a sponsor.
By profession, Vitaliy is a designer, illustrates children’s books. A particular hobby is football-themed cartoons.
