The project of the Moscow International Spring Festival of Female Art appeared on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of International Women’s Day on March 8, which was celebrated in 2013 in Russia. A major role in the new project was played by “Spring Salons” - creative contests of women artists, which were annually held in Moscow in 1993 on the initiative of the Creative Union of Women Artists “Irida” with the support of the Moscow Department of Culture, the Union of Women of Russia and the Russian Academy of Arts.
