St. Petersburg landscapes at the exhibition "Walking on the Roofs" in the Museum of Printing Automatic translate
ST. PETERSBURG. “Walking on the Roofs” - this is the name given to the exhibition, which opened at the Museum of the Press, which is part of the Museum of the History of St. Petersburg. The idea of creating a group exhibition belongs to twelve Petersburg artists.
The exposition of the exhibition contains works performed in various artistic fields. The exhibition features oil painting, watercolors, lithographs and even artistic embroidery. All the works are united by their content - St. Petersburg landscapes are presented in the drawings and paintings.
At this exhibition, you can see the diversity of the city, combining pomp and modesty, strict ceremonial facades of buildings known to everyone and inconspicuous courtyards, which only local residents know about. The exhibition was called "Walking on the Roofs", since it combined the views of St. Petersburg as they look from the height of a bird’s flight, from the windows of the upper floors and the roofs of multi-storey buildings.
So not only panoramas of the city are represented, but also small chamber landscapes, which housed views of the quiet streets of St. Petersburg courtyards. By creating this exhibition, artists made an attempt to draw attention to a problem that is becoming increasingly important every year - the preservation of the historical architecture of the city.
According to the exhibitor, artist Inna Zyuzina, with the help of this exhibition, artists make viewers pay attention to the destruction of the image of St. Petersburg that has developed over the centuries.
Many visitors to the exhibition, working until April 6, will probably be interested to know that master classes will be held during its work. Everyone can take part in them. Master classes are organized in such a way that each of the participants will be able to create their own work in the chosen technique.
