Cloisonne enamel in DEVE Gallery Moscow on Red October Automatic translate
From March 1-7, the DEVE Gallery Moscow on Red October, “The Article” will tell the story of cloisonne enamel and present to your attention a series of Masterpiece Collection, which includes works by authors whose purity of the partitions, the brightness of colors and impeccable shapes make these jewelry creations invaluable works of art.
The cloisonne enamel technique existed even in the days of the Sumerians, but only in the Byzantine Empire did this craft acquire the rank of art and found a place in Georgia, then another of the provinces of Byzantium. The procedure for product development and firing, the technique of joining metal and partitions has not changed for several centuries. It sometimes takes weeks, or even months of painstaking work, to take into account all the nuances of proportions and combine the finest partitions of precious metals into a single composition with skillfully filled enamel in complex color combinations. The artist’s unlimited imagination, painstaking work and creative look allow only the exceptional Master enamel to complete any drawing that his imagination prompts.
“The Article” collected jewelry of the best Masters of cloisonne enamel. The names of these authors are well known to connoisseurs and connoisseurs, and during the first March week the Moscow public will be able to enjoy the unique works of such Masters as David Chkheidze and Nino Burkadze. Their jewelry works, made in the old Minankari technique, preserved the sacred knowledge of the ancestors and the traditions of the craft that appeared in the VIII century.
There are only a few great artists - the heirs of this ancient school - and the participation of such an exceptional and multifaceted author as Irakli Megrelishvili may become a surprise at the exhibition.
And finally, we cannot but say that the exhibition will exclusively present a collection of jewelry by Khatuna Roinishvili, including variations on the themes “Kiss” by Gustav Klimt and “Waltz of Hesitation” by Rene Magritte.
