The Avant-Garde Art Museum (MAGMA) was founded in 2001 by the collector Vyacheslav Kantor. His collection now includes about four hundred works of artists whose works are world famous and recognized, the art world they created is truly unique.
Works from the MAGMA collection constantly travel around the world, giving people of different countries the opportunity to see how interesting work can be in which the interpenetration of national cultures is present. The exhibition, opened in Moscow, has become the most ambitious - the Pushkin Museum housed the fourth part of the collection of the Avant-Garde Museum.
For ease of viewing and perception by visitors of the works included in the exhibition, it was placed in several museum halls. Each part of the exhibition combines certain periods of art history. In the White Hall of the museum housed works of art belonging to the Paris School, as well as work. made by artists belonging to the Russian Silver Age.
In the next section of the exhibition, viewers will get acquainted with the artists who worked in the early sixties, as well as representatives of the younger generation. The works of famous Western European masters M. Rothko and L. Freud represent the art of the late twentieth century.
