Exhibition of artists of the Soviet era from the collection of Alexander Gremitsky Automatic translate
VLADIMIR. In the hall of the exhibition center located on Bolshaya Moskovskaya, on November 20, the grand opening of the exhibition of paintings by Soviet artists took place. Pictures for the exhibition were provided from his collection by Alexander Gremitsky, one of the largest collectors of painting created in Soviet times by artists who wrote their works in the traditions of socialist realism.
Alexander Gremitsky founded his collection in the 90s, when after the death of his father, the famous artist Vladimir Georgievich Gremitsky, many paintings remained in the workshop. They became the basis of the collection of paintings, subsequently systematically replenished with the works of Soviet artists.
To date, the collection of the collector has more than a thousand works belonging to the brush of forty-two artists. As Alexander Gremitsky said at the opening of the exhibition, it was not easy to assemble such a large-scale collection. At the beginning of perestroika, paintings were bought up by artists almost for nothing, and then freely exported abroad as “not representing artistic value”, replenishing the collection of paintings by Western collectors.
Looking for canvases for his collection, Alexander Gremitsky traveled almost the whole country. It is clear that it is impossible to place all the paintings at the exhibition, so the collector brought only his favorite works. First of all, this is the work of his father, Vladimir Gremitsky. The works of the talented Soviet artist were highly appreciated even during his youth, and today, art historians add his name to the hundred best Russian artists.
The exposition also includes the work of Vladimir artists - Nikolai Kournikov and Yuri Sochnev. The exhibition can be visited until December 22nd.
