"ORNAMENTALISM. Terra Incognita" in the State Concert Hall "On Kashirka" Automatic translate
In December, at the State Exhibition Hall "On Kashirka" an interesting exhibition "ORNAMENTALISM. Terra Incognita ”, uniting creative searches of about forty artists belonging to this direction. The geography of participants covers cities: Moscow, Krasnogorsk and Lobnya, Moscow Region, Dzerzhinsk, Nizhny Novgorod Region, Arkhangelsk, Ryazan, Rostov-on-Don, Saransk, neighboring countries (Belarus, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan) and distant (Poland, France) foreign countries.
The professional level of the artists is unusually high. Participants in numerous exhibitions and exhibition projects, including major international forums and festivals, whose works are in leading museums and private collections in our country and abroad - Alexey Akindinov (leader of the movement), Lada Vdovina (France), Olga Kontareva, Konstantin Kuznetsov, Vasily Nikolaev, Galina Poloz, Marina Polyakova, Larisa Rubtsova, Igor Sidorov (Belarus), Sofia Sukharyan, Toir Sharipov (Uzbekistan), etc. - these are masters with a bright personality, breaking the boundaries of traditions, able to create their own, gl miserably personal art worlds.
In 2000, Alexey Akindinov (Ryazan) opened this topic in modern painting with his personal exhibition “All the Pattern”. In subsequent years, also in Ryazan, several exhibitions were held promoting this movement, but there was no collective, generalizing exhibition.
The exhibition, which opens in Moscow, in the State Concert Hall “On Kashirka” is the first large-scale exhibition promoting the work of ornamental artists, and promising a lot of interesting concentration of artistic movements within the direction itself, as well as the possibility of a new reading.
In the works of exhibitors, ornamentalism will appear not only in a wide stylistic range of various types and genres of art: from national characteristics - traditions of folk ornament, ethnofuturism, oriental orientalism to modern rational abstractionism, sophisticated abstract decorativeism and still unrecognized meanings and symbols in which new meanings, a change of contexts takes place and a messenger is realized.
The paintings in the exhibition will be supplemented by graphics, arts and crafts, including patchwork, art glass, lingual tapestries, video art and an audio-visual installation.
The opening of the exhibition will be held December 8 at 16.00
The curator of the exhibition is Lyudmila Chekalina
