MOSCOW. On the 8th of November, in the exhibition hall of the Academy of Arts, the exhibition "The Art of Animalistics" was opened. The exposition of the exhibition consists of works located in the collection of the Art Gallery of the city of Krasnoarmeysk (Moscow Region). Since that time, the tradition of creating images of domestic animals, as well as representatives of the animal world, considered sacred, originates.
In European countries, paintings of animals became popular in the Renaissance. Famous artists, whose paintings are attributed to the masterpieces of world painting, placed pets on their canvases next to the main characters of the paintings - their owners.
In Russia, many well-known historical figures ordered portraits with their pets, and sometimes whole series of paintings dedicated to pets were shown. By order of Count Orlov, a collection of portraits with images of horses and greyhounds was created.
The exposition of the opened exhibition includes the works of such a famous Russian artist as V. A. Favorsky, who created many illustrations for literary works related to animal images, surprisingly accurate drawings by V. A. Vatagin, a recognized animal sculptor, as well as many other Russians are presented. artists whose paintings depicting animals are known throughout the world.
The exhibition, which arrived from the Moscow Region, is available until December 15th.
